About
After the Burial have been quietly reshaping heavy music since 2004, earning a reputation as key architects of djent and progressive metalcore out of Minneapolis. Their sound blends deathcore aggression with the kind of rhythmic complexity and precision that makes them a reference point for a lot of what came after them. Signed to Sumerian Records, they have put out a string of albums that chart a steady evolution, from the raw early work on Forging a Future Self through the groove heavy Rareform and on to the more expansive Wolves Within and Dig Deep. The band's story has not been without real hardship. Founding rhythm guitarist Justin Lowe left in 2015 under troubling circumstances and passed away shortly after, a loss that clearly hit the group hard and led them to step back from touring commitments at the time. Through lineup changes and genuine grief, lead guitarist Trent Hafdahl has remained the one constant, keeping the band's identity intact. The music itself has always been the anchor: technically demanding, heavy, and built to last.
