Akiva's single 'Don't Give Up' says a lot about where he sits: the track hit number one on the official Galgalatz parade, racked up 18 million YouTube views, and ended up performed as a duet with Ishay Ribo at Caesarea to another 6.6 million views. That kind of reach is rare for an Israeli artist working in the space where Mizrahi sounds, rock, and religious Jewish music overlap, and Akiva does it with a directness that critics have called soulful and penetrating rather than slick. His 2017 debut album Worlds set the template, blending rock energy with spiritual themes, and he has kept that thread running through releases like 'Simple', co written with his wife, and 'Yesh Becha Hakol', a song he wrote for his son that picked up Song of the Year honors on three separate radio charts. His third album, A Thousand Locks, arrived in 2024, showing no sign of him slowing down.
