About
Also known as: Alan Braxe and Fred Falke, Alex Braxe & Fred Falke
Alan Braxe and Fred Falke are a French house duo whose best known track is "Intro", a melancholy, elegant five minutes of dance music released in 2000. It's often credited with nudging French house toward a more modern sound, and it has stuck around ever since. The pair also worked together on the album Alan Braxe, Fred Falke & Friends: The Upper Cuts, which got a remastered reissue in 2023. "Intro" itself was later given a new lease of life with a 25th anniversary release on Domino, built on that remastered version. Both producers made fresh remixes of it. Falke took it somewhere cosmic and dubby with a newly recorded bassline, while Braxe went for a rawer, dirtier "hotel room edit" that tips its hat to French house history.
