About
Alex Party put Italian eurodance on the map in the early 1990s with a run of club hits that crossed over into mainstream pop charts. The project was built around the production duo Visnadi, the Venetian brothers Paolo and Gianni, who crafted the sound while singer Jamie Campbell became the public face of the act. Their breakthrough came with "Read My Lips (Saturday Night Party)" in late 1993, which scored in the UK, and they followed it up with the bigger "Don't Give Me Your Life" in 1995. A self titled album appeared in 1996, and the project kept going long enough to land one more hit, "U Gotta Be", in the summer of 2000 before quietly disappearing. Part of a wider Italian house empire that also produced Livin' Joy and Cool Jack, Alex Party sat right at the sweet spot where underground house met radio friendly pop.
