Alexis Kossenko wears a lot of hats, and wears them well. The French flautist, conductor and musicologist from Nice has built a performing career spanning some of the most respected period instrument ensembles around, from the Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique to Anima Eterna and the European Union Baroque Orchestra. His discography covers Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, Vivaldi and Telemann, picking up strong notices along the way including an Editor's Choice from Gramophone for his recording of Vivaldi flute concertos with Arte dei Suonatori. In 2010 he founded Les Ambassadeurs, an international ensemble dedicated to Baroque and classical music on period instruments, and the group has since released a string of records on Alpha and Erato. His conducting work has taken him to B'Rock in Belgium, the Holland Baroque Society and Arte dei Suonatori in Poland, among others. In 2019 he was named Music Director of La Grande Écurie et la Chambre du Roy, one of France's storied period instrument orchestras.
