Alicja Gescinska is a philosopher, writer and TV maker whose work circles around conscience, freedom of thought and moral courage. Born in Warsaw, she built her intellectual career in Belgium, where she became a prominent voice in public debate. Her book Vrouwen in duistere tijden drew serious attention, with de Volkskrant calling it a charge against indifference.
