San Diego trio Almost Monday make the kind of breezy, hook heavy indie pop that sounds custom built for windows down driving. Dawson Daugherty, Luke Fabry, and Cole Clisby put the band together in 2015, and after a few years grinding the local circuit they broke through with "Broken People" in 2019, which climbed to number 27 on the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart. Their debut EP Don't Say You're Ordinary landed on Hollywood Records in 2020, produced by Mark Needham and Simon Oscroft, and set the template: warm guitars, big choruses, and a relentless sense of forward motion. Their debut album Dive arrived in September 2024 and quickly proved they could hold a full record together. Its second single "Can't Slow Down" hit number 1 on the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart in early 2025, a genuinely hard thing to pull off. The band has shared stages with AJR, Joywave, Young the Giant, and Cold War Kids, and they have built a fanbase that stretches into Asia, kicking off the Dive Tour in Seoul before heading through Europe and the US. A second album, Thank God It's Almost Monday, followed in 2026.
