ALVORADA (GB)
From United Kingdom
ALVORADA has one upcoming show in the Netherlands: on October 31, 2026 at Dizzy, Rotterdam.
About
Alvorada plays Brazilian instrumental music with the loose, improvising spirit of jazz. Their sets mix original compositions with pieces from the choro repertoire, the old Brazilian instrumental tradition built on quick, intricate melodies. Around that core they pull in samba, baião, xote and bossa nova, so the grooves keep shifting from one tune to the next. The band is based in the UK and sits somewhere between latin jazz and straight jazz. What they go for is a mix of technical skill and easy, joyful interplay, with the players reacting to each other in the moment rather than sticking rigidly to the page. It's sophisticated music, but it's meant to feel warm and fun to listen to.
