About
The three musicians who make up Amelio Trio decided to form a piano trio back in 2012, when they were all just thirteen years old. That early start has grown into a serious international career, driven in part by strong results at several competitions, including the prestigious ARD Musikwettbewerb. The Süddeutsche Zeitung noted after one performance that while each player brought a clearly individual character to the music, their alert and lively ensemble playing held the listener's attention from start to finish. Concerts by the trio typically weave together different styles and musical languages, making for programmes that shift and surprise rather than settle into one idiom. Composer Helena Winkelman wrote a new work especially for them.
