About

Also known as: AHC, Flux, Gestapo Pussy Ranch, Warsaw Ghetto Pussy

American Head Charge built their reputation in the underground industrial metal scene of Minneapolis before Rick Rubin came calling. Their early demo, Trepanation, caught enough attention that System of a Down's Shavo Odadjian personally recommended them to Rubin, landing the band a deal with American Recordings. Their major label debut, The War of Art, moved over 250,000 copies and put them on stages alongside Ozzfest, Slipknot, Slayer, and Rammstein, cementing their place in the early 2000s heavy music circuit. The follow up, The Feeding, arrived in 2005 after a turbulent stretch that saw multiple members dealing with substance dependency and a parting of ways with Rubin. Tragedy struck that same year when guitarist Bryan Ottoson died of an accidental prescription drug overdose while on tour, a loss that shook the band to its core. Through all the chaos, American Head Charge kept a sound that blended nu metal aggression with industrial textures, earning two Kerrang! Award nominations along the way.
