About
Amsterdams Allooi makes theatre built around Amsterdam songs, poems and stories. Their programme In Gelul Kan Je Niet Wonen takes housing as its theme, and it roams the city to do it: from the Jordaan to the Javastraat, from the old box bed to the Airbnb, from Mosveld to the Zuidas. The material looks at everything a roof over your head can stir up, from house prices, zoning plans and ground lease to squatters' barricades, evictions and the neighbour's fence. It treats the question of where we live as both a big city argument and a very personal feeling.
