About
Andert Tysma is a Frisian multi instrumentalist, composer and producer whose work sits at the crossroads of ambient, neoclassical and electronic music. Comparisons to Nils Frahm and Ólafur Arnalds aren't hard to hear, and there's a tangible link to Frahm beyond the sound: Tysma recorded part of his second album Hana at Frahm's own Funkhaus studio. He releases his records on Apollo Records, the label that also put out Aphex Twin's early ambient catalogue. His third album Parallels takes its concept from the parallel paths in life shaped by the things we never do. It's an intriguing premise for an artist already building a reputation for music that rewards close, patient listening.
