Few schlager artists in Germany have racked up the kind of numbers Andrea Berg has: over 10 million records sold, six ECHO Awards, and a string of chart topping albums that stretches from the early 2000s all the way through the 2010s. Her 2001 compilation Best Of became a phenomenon of its own, spending more weeks on the German and Austrian charts than any other album in her catalogue, eventually going seven times platinum in Germany alone. Berg first broke through with Gefühle in 1995, after producer Eugen Römer spotted her talent on a cassette tape. The two worked together for 17 years, turning out hits and number one albums including Machtlos, Splitternackt, and Zwischen Himmel und Erde. When Dieter Bohlen took over production duties in 2010, the momentum barely slowed: Schwerelos, Abenteuer, Atlantis, and Seelenbeben all topped the charts in Germany and Austria. Her 2024 single Sag niemals nie shows she is still very much in the game.
