Andy McKee has built a devoted following through YouTube videos of his fingerstyle guitar playing, with hundreds of millions of views across performances that showcase a level of technical precision that genuinely has to be seen to be believed. His percussive, multi layered approach treats the acoustic guitar almost like a one man band, and it turned his 2005 Candyrat Records release Art of Motion into one of the most streamed acoustic guitar albums of the internet era. Over the course of six studio albums he has covered Toto, Michael Hedges, and Tears for Fears, recorded a collaborative album with Don Ross, and worked in harp guitar on tracks like Into the Ocean and Gates of Gnomeria. His 2010 album Joyland, inspired by an actual amusement park in his hometown of Topeka, Kansas, shows a broader sound with added instrumentation alongside his signature acoustic work. The 2014 EP Mythmaker marked his first venture into solo piano composition.
