About
Andy Pavlov, the Belgrade born pianist and composer now based in the Netherlands, works across neoclassical piano music, electronic music, and jazz, pulling inspiration from figures as varied as Erik Satie, Thelonious Monk, and Gurdjieff/De Hartmann. His albums have come out on Universal Music, Donemus, and Sweet Sensation, the label he co founded in 2020 with members of Sixth June. His solo piano record released on Universal Music sits comfortably alongside more experimental outings like his retro futuristic synth album on EXIT/Odličan Hrčak. Pavlov also makes up one half of LP Duo, the piano pair he formed with Sonja Lončar that has played Carnegie Hall, the Concertgebouw, and Ars Electronica, among many others. The duo co created the Quantum Music project alongside Oxford University and Ars Electronica Linz, and even invented a new instrument called the Duality Portable Hybrid Piano together with quantum physicists and engineers. On top of all that, he composes for theater, TV, and film, and holds a professorship at the University of Novi Sad.
