About
Anna Luna is a Barcelona born singer, guitarist and composer who works mostly in jazz and Brazilian popular music. She started out at the Conservatory of Sabadell with piano and musical language, then added harmony, voice, guitar, cajon and flamenco dance to her toolkit. Her professional career kicked off with the Janio Marti Orchestra, touring Spain, France, Germany, Denmark and Switzerland, and she later sang with the Sutton Orchestra and Big Band and the Maravella Orchestra. Her albums include Alguien, Jazidas Project, Batida Diferente, Spring is Here and Sketches, the last of which earned a nomination for best album at the Premios de la Música. Femenina followed in 2011 and took her to Italy and Berlin, and it picked up a second prize for best album plus a second best female singer nod from Jazz Station in Los Angeles. She leads her own Anna Luna Lucas Quintet and is also a vocal teacher, focused on modern technique, giving master classes in Spain and Italy.
