AP Dhillon, the Indo Canadian singer, rapper and producer, has built one of the most recognizable names in modern Punjabi music from his base in Canada. Working under Run Up Records alongside Gurinder Gill, Shinda Kahlon and Gminxr, he stacked up chart hits early on, with 'Majhail' and 'Brown Munde' both topping Billboard charts. 'Brown Munde' in particular became a phenomenon, debuting at number one on the UK Asian chart and racking up well over 700 million YouTube views. His 2020 collaborative album Not by Chance swept all seven tracks onto the New Zealand charts and hit the top five of the UK Official Punjabi Music chart. He kept expanding his reach from there, tying his track 'Insane' to an Amazon Prime Video campaign for The Boys, and in 2023 he became the first Punjabi language artist to perform at the Juno Awards in Canada. His 2024 studio album The Brownprint marks the latest chapter in a career that has steadily crossed over from Punjabi music circles into mainstream territory.
