Tom Higham and Ben Fletcher make up Aquilo, a duo from Silverdale, Lancashire whose sound sits somewhere between fragile dream pop and chilled electronica, with soulful vocals woven through the whole thing. They first caught ears in 2013 with early tracks like "You There" and "Calling Me", landing a spot on BBC Radio 1's playlist and a performance on the BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury 2014. "You There" even turned up in the trailer for the indie film Camp X Ray. Since then they have put out five EPs and three studio albums: Silhouettes in 2017, ii in 2018, and A Safe Place To Be in 2021. Along the way they collaborated with Madeon on his debut album Adventure and contributed vocals to Enigma's The Fall of a Rebel Angel. Their collaboration with Vanic on "Losing You" racked up over 7.5 million plays on SoundCloud, showing just how far their quietly affecting sound can travel.
