About
Armand Hammer is the duo of Billy Woods and Elucid, two New York rappers who have built a devoted cult following without ever leaving Woods' own label, Backwoodz Studioz. Every project they've put out has come through there, and the music tends to dig into political and psychosocial themes. They got their name from the American oil tycoon and art collector Armand Hammer. They started with the mixtape Half Measures in 2013, then the debut album Race Music, and kept going through Rome, Paraffin and Shrines, the last of which pulled in guests like Earl Sweatshirt, Moor Mother and Pink Siifu. Two full albums with the Alchemist followed, Haram in 2021 and Mercy in 2025. In between came We Buy Diabetic Test Strips in 2023, with production from JPEGMAFIA, El P and Kenny Segal.
