About
Axioma, a Cleveland band, mash together death metal, post black metal, sludge, doom and ambient textures into something dark and apocalyptic. They're often compared to Neurosis and Inter Arma for being heavy and punishing but also properly atmospheric. The lineup mixes players from Forged in Flame with Aaron Dallison, a former bassist and vocalist for Keelhaul and Ringworm, and they've been at it since 2015. They started with the EP Opia, then moved on to two albums on Translation Loss Records, Crown and Sepsis. Crown even includes a cover of Massive Attack's Angel. The 2023 EP Primal Descent was written during the pandemic and deals with technological and societal decay. Their most unusual moment might be Live Totality, a live EP inspired by a show on the shore of Lake Erie during the 2024 total solar eclipse. They've shared stages with Goatwhore, Conan, Gorguts and Imperial Triumphant.
