About
Ayron Jones once described his own sound as "like if Michael Jackson played guitar like Jimi Hendrix in Kurt Cobain's band", and that pretty much tells you everything you need to know. The Seattle guitarist, singer and songwriter blends blues, grunge, hip hop, hard rock and soul into something that feels genuinely hard to pin down. He spent years building a following on the local circuit with his trio Ayron Jones and the Way before Sir Mix a Lot caught them playing a dive bar in 2012 and helped them record their debut album. His major label debut, Child of the State, dropped in May 2021 and landed on Loudwire's list of the best rock and metal albums of that year. The singles leading up to it, including "Mercy" and "Spinning Circles", picked up repeated praise from Classic Rock magazine. Along the way he has shared stages with everyone from B.B. King and Jeff Beck to Slipknot and The Rolling Stones, which gives you a pretty good sense of how wide his appeal actually runs.
