Backhouse Mike, the alias of Michael Thomas Corcoran, is the kind of behind the scenes force whose work reached millions of kids without most of them ever knowing his name. Based in Los Angeles, he spent the better part of the 2000s and 2010s composing and producing music for a string of Nickelodeon and Disney Channel shows, including Drake and Josh, iCarly, Victorious, Zoey 101, Shake It Up, and Liv and Maddie, among others. He also scored Netflix's The Mr. Peabody and Sherman Show and VH1's Hit the Floor, showing a range that went well beyond children's television. He was a member of Drake Bell's band for roughly seven years starting around 2003, and his own band Backhouse Mike even turned up on screen in an episode of iCarly and the Zoey 101 finale, performing under the name Backflesh. The band's track "Take Me Back" landed on the official iCarly soundtrack. He also works under the name Ken Lofkoll.
