About
Also known as: 비에이이173
BAE173 came out swinging in November 2020 with the EP Intersection: Spark, and the video for "Crush on U" hit 10 million views in just six days. The South Korean boy band started as nine members under PocketDol Studio, and two of them, Hangyul and Dohyon, already had a profile from Produce X 101 and the duo H&D. The name stands for "Before Anyone Else", with 173 as a nod to perfection and luck. They followed up with the EPs Intersection: Trace (lead single "Loved You"), Intersection: Blaze ("Jaws") and Odyssey: Dash. In 2023 they made the finals of the JTBC survival show Peak Time and finished fifth, leaving behind new songs like "Criminal" and "GT". They returned in 2024 with New Chapter: Luceat and the single "Fifty Fifty", while members split off to compete on Project 7 and Starlight Boys. J Min placed third on Project 7 and Hangyul sixth on Starlight Boys. The group wound down in 2026 as the members' contracts expired.
