BAMBii

About

Also known as: Kirsten Azan

BAMBII, the Toronto DJ and producer Kirsten Azan, turned her 2023 EP Infinity Club into a proper breakout. It won the Juno Award for Electronic Album of the Year at the 2024 Junos and landed on the shortlist for that year's Polaris Music Prize, with NME handing it four out of five stars. Her sound lives where jungle, dancehall, drum 'n' bass and UK garage collide, which Pitchfork once summed up as rave ready songs from a queer club innovator. She came up through Toronto's nightclub scene and has since played festivals as far afield as Melbourne's Rising. Lately she has been busy with videos for Thunder with JELEEL!, Mirror featuring Jessy Lanza and Yaeji, and Bad Boy, plus a Spit visualiser with BEAM and Lady Lykez.
