About
Bananie is a bilingual children's book series in Dutch and Papiamentu, created by Emyron Paula, who was born on Curaçao and grew up surrounded by multiple languages and cultures. The concept came together in 2020, driven by a wish to bring people closer, encourage curiosity, and open children's eyes to the wider world. Each book takes Bananie to a different country, where she meets local children, learns new words, and finds out that diversity is something worth embracing. The series puts a clear idea front and centre: differences do not push people apart, they create new connections. Through playful stories, young readers get a warm introduction to language, friendship and culture, all built around the belief that the world becomes a better place the more of it you explore.
