About
Bandeville is a six piece band built around a deep love for the music of Willy DeVille, the American singer and songwriter who blended blues, soul, rock and roll, and Latin influences into something entirely his own. Their sets pull from DeVille's catalogue, covering timeless tracks like "Demasiado Corazon", "Spanish Stroll" and "Hey Joe", while also including original songs written in the same spirit. The range is wide: rhythm and blues, cajun, salsa, mariachi and tejano all get a look in, making each show a genuinely varied musical ride. What sets them apart is that they don't just replicate. They reinterpret and rearrange, and they fold in material from artists DeVille himself admired, including John Hiatt and Ry Cooder, alongside older blues figures. On top of that, their own compositions sit comfortably in the same Americana tradition, songs full of longing, romance and grit that feel right at home next to the classics.
