Six number ones on the US Hot Dance Club Songs chart across little more than a decade tells you a lot about Barbara Tucker's staying power. The Brooklyn born house and soul singer built her sound through a long partnership with the production duo Masters At Work, whose work with her produced some of the genre's most enduring tracks: "Beautiful People", "I Get Lifted", "Stay Together" and "Stop Playing With My Mind". She has also collaborated with David Guetta and Blaze, and sung background vocals for Deee Lite and George Clinton. Tucker is more than just a vocalist though. She has choreographed for C&C Music Factory and Deee Lite, and staged the first Club Music Award show. Her connection to Ibiza runs deeper than most: she is the only recording artist to have held a yearly residency at the island. Billboard magazine ranked her the 63rd most successful dance artist of all time in 2016, a nod to a career that has kept producing floor fillers well into the 2010s.
