About
Also known as: Sungbeen Lim, 빈지노, 임성빈
Beenzino got his start posting recordings online, and a handful of well placed features later he was one of the most recognisable melodic rappers in South Korea. His name is a riff on Boston rapper Benzino, with the "bin" borrowed from his own. Early on he worked in the duo Jazzyfact with producer Shimmy Twice, and as Hot Clip with Beatbox DG, while also guesting for names like Dok2, Epik High and Verbal Jint. His solo debut album, 24:26, arrived in 2012, followed by Up All Night in 2014 and 12 in 2016. The breakthrough came with "Dali, Van, Picasso", which pulled in almost 600,000 downloads before it even had a music video. He also featured on Junggigo's "Want U", a number one hit that sold over a million copies. He took his solo show to the U.S. in 2015, and later left Illionaire Records to join E Sens at Beasts and Natives Alike.
