About
Ben UFO, the London DJ born Ben Thomson, built his name as a co founder of Hessle Audio, the label that became a touchstone for forward thinking UK club music spanning house, techno and post dubstep. He cut his teeth on pirate radio at Sub FM before landing a residency at Rinse FM, and he regularly plays alongside fellow Hessle Audio founders Pearson Sound and Pangaea. His mixes for BBC Radio, Fabric and Rinse FM have cemented his reputation as one of the most thoughtful selectors around, a DJ who treats a set as a carefully considered journey rather than a hype exercise. His BBC Radio Essential Mix was shortlisted for mix of the year in 2021, which tells you everything about the regard he commands across the global dance music community.
