Ben Wolfe is a Baltimore born jazz bassist whose resume reads like a who's who of modern jazz royalty. He spent years anchoring the bands of Harry Connick Jr. and Wynton Marsalis, including a stint with Marsalis's Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra from 1995, and toured with Diana Krall in 1997. Along the way he also shared stages with Branford Marsalis, Marcus Roberts, and Frank Kimbrough, building a reputation as one of the more versatile and in demand double bass players of his generation. Beyond the bandstand, Wolfe has been a fixture on the faculty at The Juilliard School Jazz Division since 2002, shaping the next wave of jazz musicians. His double bass work blends deep swing roots with genuine harmonic sophistication, which tracks given that he took early lessons from the legendary Ray Brown.
