Bengü is one of Turkey's most consistent chart performers, racking up a string of number one singles and best selling albums across a career that spans more than two decades. Her 2007 album Taktik was a turning point, with "Korkma Kalbim" landing 136,430 downloads and becoming one of the most downloaded Turkish songs of that year. She followed that momentum with İki Melek in 2009, which sold 125,000 copies, went gold, and sat at the top of the Türkçe Top 20 for seven weeks straight. Her 2011 album Dört Dörtlük kept her at the centre of Turkish pop, with its lead single "Aşkım" becoming the most searched song on Google in Turkey that year. She also became the most followed artist in the country in 2011. Her seventh album İkinci Hal arrived in 2014, producing hits like "Sahici" and "Feveran", and earning her the title of the Turkish female artist with the most TV streams that year according to TelifMetre. With eight studio albums and a catalogue full of genuine hits, Bengü has built a remarkably durable presence in Turkish pop.
