Benny Benassi is widely credited with bringing electro house into the mainstream, largely thanks to "Satisfaction", his 2002 summer club smash that earned praise from Carl Cox and Roger Sanchez and climbed to number 2 on the UK Singles Chart. The Italian DJ and producer from Reggio Emilia has a knack for landing in unexpected places: his remix of Public Enemy's "Bring the Noise" took home the Grammy for Best Remixed Recording in 2008, and his production credits stretch from Madonna's MDNA album to Chris Brown's "Beautiful People" and a track on Mika's The Origin of Love. His debut solo album Hypnotica, released in 2003, is still considered a key record in the electro house canon, blending electroclash textures with MacInTalk voices in a way that felt genuinely strange and new. Alongside cousin Alle Benassi he also runs the Benassi Bros. project, which gave vocalists Paul French and Violeta a proper spotlight. His Panorama live session series, filmed at locations like the Arena di Verona and the Dolomites, shows he still finds creative ways to present his sets.
