About
Beth & Flo are two Dutch pianists, Elsbet Remijn and Claudette Verhulst, who bring a playful and slightly offbeat energy to classical repertoire. Their concerts feature a mix of thundering four handed passages, with all twenty fingers tearing across the keys, and quieter, more dreamy moments. The two are close friends, though they cheerfully admit to bickering, and they keep playing right through any disagreements. Flo has a thing for imitating animal sounds on the piano, while Beth loves to sing and blow bubbles during performances. Their programme draws on Saint Saëns' Carnival of the Animals alongside music by Debussy, Mozart and Gershwin, making their shows a concert experience aimed at anyone who feels young at heart.
