About
Bilk wear their influences loudly and proudly: The Jam, Arctic Monkeys, Jamie T, the Sex Pistols, Nirvana, Green Day, Oasis, and even Dizzee Rascal all get namechecked, and you can actually hear that collision in the music. The Essex duo of Sol Abrahams and Luke Hare mix 90s punk with old school hip hop energy, and lyrically they go from personal stories to sharp social commentary, including a track on their debut album that takes direct aim at the Conservative government. After building momentum through a string of singles and EPs, Bilk released their self titled debut album in 2023, recorded on a farm outside Manchester, and took it on the road to festivals including Reading and Leeds, SXSW, and 2000trees. Their sophomore album Essex, Drugs and Rock and Roll followed in January 2025, sending them out on their biggest tour yet, covering the UK and then Europe.
