About
Also known as: Isabella Sophie Tweddle
Billie Marten, the stage name of Isabella Sophie Tweddle from Ripon in North Yorkshire, has built a folk rooted singer songwriter career that spans five full length albums and a trajectory from teenage YouTube sensation to signed artist on Fiction Records. She came to wider attention when a cover she performed for a local Yorkshire YouTube channel racked up thousands of views at age twelve, and by fifteen she had already released her debut EP, "Ribbon", a track she co wrote with Fiona Bevan inspired by train journeys from Yorkshire to London. Her sound sits somewhere between acoustic, folk and indie, drawing on influences like Nick Drake, Joni Mitchell and Jeff Buckley. After two albums on Chess Club Records and a split from Sony she described as "the best day of my life", she signed with Fiction Records and has kept a steady release pace. Her fifth album, "Dog Eared", arrived in 2025, preceded by singles including "Crown", "Feeling" and "Leap Year".
