About
Black Honey are a Brighton band who've spent a decade turning cinematic, guitar heavy indie rock into proper chart success. Fronted by Izzy Baxter Phillips, with Chris Ostler on guitar, Tommy Taylor on bass and Alex Woodward on drums, they started out in 2014 with a self titled EP featuring "Sleep Forever" and "Bloodlust". Support slots for Catfish and the Bottlemen and Royal Blood followed, plus a long run of festival appearances across the UK and Europe, and they made the NME cover in 2019. Their self titled debut album reached number 33 in the UK in 2018. Then came Written & Directed in March 2021, which jumped all the way to number 7 and topped the UK independent chart. They even made the videos for some singles themselves, like "Beaches", which the band shot in house during lockdown.
