About
Blasterjaxx are a Dutch duo from The Hague, Thom Jongkind and Idir Makhlaf, who built their name on the harder, euphoric end of big room house and electro house. Their momentum really kicked off in 2012 and 2013 when Laidback Luke signed their Reborn EP to Mixmash Records and Tiësto picked up their track "Loud & Proud" for his Musical Freedom label. From there they worked their way into the upper reaches of the DJ Mag Top 100, landing at number 13 in 2014, and racked up collaborations with Hardwell, David Guetta, Afrojack, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, and plenty of others. Their single "Faith" charted in the Netherlands in 2013 and crossed into Sweden the following year, and they also remixed Tiësto classics like "Adagio for Strings" and "Love Comes Again." Since late 2015 Makhlaf stepped back from touring due to panic attacks, leaving Jongkind to handle live duties while Makhlaf focuses on studio work. In 2024 the duo launched a new techno alias called THOMM, showing they are still pushing into fresh territory.
