About
Bollywood Masala is a large scale dance show that blends film, dance, and Indian gastronomy into a festive musical comedy. The story follows Mr Kari Balti, a legendary Indian chef credited with inventing on location catering during the early days of the film industry. The production draws on the classic masala movie formula from Mumbai, weaving together contrasting genres and emotions in a single spectacular evening. Audiences can expect over 300 colourful costumes, sweeping romance, plenty of comedy, and a setlist of iconic Bollywood songs including Devdas, Lagaan, Dhoom, and the Oscar winning Naatu Naatu from RRR. The dancers have shared stages with Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan, and the live musicians perform ethnic themes on traditional instruments such as the sitar, the drum and the sarangi.
