About
Born of Osiris built their reputation in the Chicago suburb metalcore scene alongside bands like Veil of Maya and Oceano, but they quickly pushed past genre boundaries into something harder to pin down. Their sound layers technical deathcore riffs with progressive metal textures and keyboard work, giving their records a cinematic density that sets them apart from most of their peers. Their 2009 debut A Higher Place cracked the Billboard 200, and 2011's The Discovery did the same, proving they had genuine crossover pull beyond the underground. Over their career they have toured relentlessly, appearing on Summer Slaughter multiple times and sharing stages with acts ranging from Cannibal Corpse to Arch Enemy. Their name, drawn from the Egyptian deity Osiris and the myth of his son Horus, fits the grand, mythic scale they aim for musically. Drummer Cameron Losch is the sole founding member still in the band, with Ronnie Canizaro on lead vocals and a lineup that has kept the group's aggressive yet melodic approach intact across multiple albums.
