Brankele Frank is a writer, columnist and neurobiologist whose thinking sits at the crossroads of science and the inner life. In the programme "Vrolijk gestemd, hoe je een snaar raakt", Frank explores what music actually does to us: how it triggers emotion, tips us off balance, or brings us back to calm. The evening treats music not just as an art form but as a gateway into our inner world, weaving together ideas about sensitivity, resilience and the power of sound. Frank appears as part of the Scherpdenkers series, a platform for stories and ideas that invite reflection. The evening also features four musicians performing works by composers including Pärt and Fagerlund, giving the whole thing a live, experiential dimension that goes well beyond a straight lecture.
