About
Best known as a key part of Thee Oh Sees, Brigid Dawson has spent years shaping the sound of one of garage rock's most prolific acts through her vocals, keyboard work, and tambourine. Critics have called her John Dwyer's secret weapon, pointing to the way her whimsical harmonies give the band an edge in a heavily male dominated scene. Her voice draws comparisons to Kim Deal and Exene Cervenka, which tells you a lot about the register she operates in. Beyond Thee Oh Sees, Dawson has kept busy with her own project, Brigid Dawson and The Mothers Network, releasing Ballet of Apes in 2020. She also appeared on the OCS record Memory of a Cut Off Head and contributed to Permanent Slow Fade's self titled album that same year. A UK native now based in California, she occasionally performed as Mix Tapes alongside Meric Long of The Dodos.
