Few bands hit as hard or as chaotically fun as Butcher Babies, the Los Angeles heavy metal outfit built around the dual vocalist attack of Heidi Shepherd and Carla Harvey. Their sound mixes groove metal muscle with metalcore aggression, and early live reviews compared them to Pantera fronted by Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie in full horror mode. Their 2013 Century Media debut Goliath, produced by Josh Wilbur, landed at No. 112 on the Billboard 200 and cracked the top three on the Heatseeker chart straight out of the gate. They followed with Take It Like a Man in 2015, a deliberate shift toward their thrash roots, and Lilith in 2017. Their most ambitious project arrived in 2023 as a double album titled Eye for an Eye / Til the Worlds Blind, preceded by a string of singles including Beaver Cage and Red Thunder. The band has kept pushing forward even through lineup changes and health setbacks, and their output shows no sign of slowing down.
