About
Cajun Moon started out as a tribute to the music of J.J. Cale, and that laid back, slow burning groove is still at the heart of what they do. Over time, as the lineup evolved, the sound grew wider, pulling in jazz, a touch of funk, and the melancholic warmth of Americana. The result is a rootsy blend that sits easy on the ears without ever feeling lightweight. Live, the band covers a broad range of artists including Bonnie Raitt, John Hiatt, David Crosby, and Keb' Mo', alongside their own takes on Cale's catalogue. The group is made up of Lars Murrer on lead vocals and guitars, Jules Peters on bass, Eef Karsten on piano and Hammond organ, Christian Christoffel on drums and percussion, and Carijn Beumer handling saxophone, violin, and backing vocals.
