About
Also known as: Cam, Cameron Ezike Giles, Camron, Kam, Killa, Killa Kam, Killah Cam
Cam'ron built his name on some of the most infectious rap records to come out of Harlem in the 2000s. His 2002 album Come Home with Me went platinum and delivered two Billboard Hot 100 top five singles, "Oh Boy" and "Hey Ma", both featuring Juelz Santana, and production from Just Blaze and Kanye West among others. Purple Haze followed in 2004 and cemented his reputation, going gold and becoming one of his most celebrated projects. Before going solo, he was part of Children of the Corn alongside Big L and Mase, and later co founded the Diplomats, the Harlem collective also known as Dipset, whose debut double album Diplomatic Immunity was certified gold by the RIAA. Cam'ron has never been content to stay in one lane. He starred in, wrote, and directed the Killa Season film in 2006, and earlier played a lead role in the Damon Dash produced crime film Paid in Full alongside Wood Harris and Mekhi Phifer. Crime Pays hit number three on the Billboard 200 in 2009, and he returned a decade later with Purple Haze 2. More recently he put out the track "Medellin" in 2020, showing he has no intention of slowing down.
