About
Camila Mandillo is a soprano whose artistic identity extends well beyond singing. Dance and theatre have always been part of how she works, and physical expression is just as central to her performances as her voice. Portuguese by origin, she studied in Lisbon before graduating cum laude from the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin, then moved to Belgium for a residency at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel. Her repertoire spans centuries with ease, from Baroque composers like Monteverdi through to new contemporary works, including pieces by Bushra El Turk. Clarity, intensity and imagination define her stage presence, and she brings a sharp sense of humour and irony to everything she does. She is a regular participant in the European Rising Stars circuit, a platform that selects emerging musicians through a network of leading concert halls across the continent.
