About
Camp Claude are a Paris trio who started out in 2013 and have spent their career dodging easy labels. Their own shorthand for the sound is "Sky Wave", a spot where rock, pop and electronic music meet. It's minimalist and calm, but it can turn icy or erupt, and it keeps shifting from song to song. Diane Sagnier handles the vocals, with Michael Giffts, who also goes by Mau, and Leo Hellden alongside her. The discography runs from the Hero EP and the album Swimming Lessons, both from 2016, through Double Dreaming in 2019 and Moody Moon in 2023. Singles like Dancing Alone and Don't Hold Back sit in between, and Never Say Never is listed as a fourth album. Genre sites file them under synthpop, though the band clearly sees their sound as wider than that.
