Caravan of Thieves built their reputation on shows that feel more like a traveling carnival than a standard gig. The Connecticut foursome plays what they call gypsy swing, mixing dark, witty songwriting with an anything goes stage presence that pulls audiences off their feet and into the performance. Core duo Fuzz and Carrie Sangiovanni lock in tight vocal harmonies, and when they go fully acoustic mid show, unplugging and stepping into the crowd, things get properly communal. Their catalog runs from the debut Bouquet through the live recorded Mischief Night to The Funhouse, which brought in banjos, resonator guitars, ukuleles, and a percussion section built partly from kitchen appliances. They have shared stages with acts as varied as The Decemberists, Iron and Wine, and Glen Campbell. Their track Raise the Dead even found a new audience when it was featured in the DC animated series Creature Commandos.
