Caravan Palace take the spirit of Django Reinhardt and run it through a filter built from Daft Punk and Vitalic, landing somewhere between electro swing, electro house, and fidget house that is genuinely hard to place in any one era. The Paris group got their start composing a soundtrack for a silent adult film, then found most of their lineup through MySpace searches before anyone was doing that ironically. Their self titled debut landed in 2008 on Wagram Music and spent 68 consecutive weeks on the French albums chart, eventually shifting over 150,000 copies worldwide. Since then they have kept expanding their sound across five studio albums, from Panic in 2012 through to Gangbusters Melody Club in 2024. Their track Lone Digger, from the 2015 album Robot Face, became one of their most recognisable cuts and earned them spots on Later with Jools Holland and The Jonathan Ross Show. The band's lineup has grown into a full live ensemble covering saxophone, violin, clarinet, trombone, vibraphone and dance alongside the core production team.
