About
Also known as: Carl Andrew Cox
Carl Cox has spent decades as one of the most recognisable figures in techno and house music, famous in part for pioneering three deck mixing at a time when most DJs were still working with two. His fifteen year residency at Space Ibiza, running every summer from 2001 to 2016 under the banner "Music is Revolution", became one of the most celebrated runs in club history, wrapping up with a ten hour vinyl and CDJ set that drew artists like Nic Fanciulli, Popof and DJ Sneak to his final night. Beyond the DJ booth, Cox built a whole ecosystem around his name. He ran the Global podcast for nearly sixteen years, topped the DJ Magazine top 100 poll back in 1997, and launched his curated "Carl Cox and Friends" stage at Ultra Music Festival in 2004, a concept that has since spread across Awakenings, Tomorrowland, EDC Las Vegas and more. His Intec Records label, relaunched as Intec Digital in 2010, sits alongside Awesome Soundwave, a second label he founded in 2018 with producer Christopher Coe to champion live electronic artists.
