About
Carlita, the stage name of Carla Frayman, brings something genuinely unusual to electronic music: a classically trained cellist who can hold her own on guitar, bass, piano, and drums, now crafting sets that weave psychedelic textures, Turkish folk references, and melodic techno into something distinctly her own. Her path into DJing started almost by accident, making playlists for friends in Boston before a club owner handed her a set of CDJs and a residency at Bijou nightclub. She has since played Coachella, Burning Man, Tomorrowland, Sónar, and Cercle, and in 2023 she co founded Senza Fine with DJ Tennis, a platform merging music, fashion, and visual arts. Her debut album Sentimental, released in 2024 on Counter Records under Ninja Tune, pulled strong critical attention for its range of sonic textures and collaborations. A fabric mix compilation followed in April 2025, showing she shows no signs of slowing down.
